Jan De Nul n.v. started in 1938 as a contracting company active in civil engineering. Since 1951, dredging works have been added to the portfolio of activities. Meanwhile, Jan De Nul Group has developed into a specialist in civil engineering works, dredging works and marine activities.
Jan De Nul Group employs more than 4,000 people worldwide. The activities include among others: dredging and land reclamation activities, specialised services for offshore pipelines, rock dumping, shore protection, civil engineering works, marine engineering works, the construction of buildings and the construction of water purification plants.
Since 1996, Jan De Nul Group has expanded its activities to the environment sector offering services such as soil remediation, cleaning of so-called brown-fields, ex-situ activities and the construction and management of landfills.
