BUVA was founded in 1946 in Rotterdam. The company started as a wholesale trading company, trading in fasteners for the construction industry. In 1965, BUVA started its own Research and Development department This department modified existing products and made them into BUVA products.
At the beginning of the 1990?s, the company recognised the market need for custom-made products and also began its own assembly lines. The company has grown physically since then, adding a new production hall and logistics centre at its current location in Barendrecht in 1999, and moving into a new office building in 2001.
BUVA develops, manufactures and markets components for applications in window frames and other related products. These include a wide range of hardware for windows including hinges, latches, locks and hardened glass, mechanical ventilation grates, aluminium profiles for window applications and mailboxes for apartment complexes.
