This is the third joint venture agreement signed by TOTAL for LPG distribution in China. The Group also owns an interest in two depots already operating in the country, one at Yantai in Shandong Province and another at Shenzhen in Guangdong Province.
In Vietnam, TOTAL and local companies Tracimexco and Port Cua Cam have set up the Total Lubricants Vietnam J.V. Co, with 60% ownership by TOTAL. The joint venture will build a 25,000 t/year lubricants production plant at Haiphong in northern Vietnam to market TOTAL products throughout the country. The plant involves a capital investment of US$ 6.5 million and is to enter service in the second half of 1999.
